- On the Plain of Nazca in Peru appear these strange markings. The 'Inca Roads'artwork is representational of a view of the plain showing that the markings are mysteriously directional, archaeologists are mystified as to their real meaning. Some of the strange markings on the Plain of Nazca are strangely reminiscent of the aircraft parking bays which predate any notion of what we see at any modern airport today. It is thought that some of the markings which have aerial direction indicators are symbolic of religious significance.
